On December 1st Jake Allen will be wearing a specially painted mask to support the Hockey Fights Cancer campaign. The design was thought up by St. Louis Blues defenseman Alex Peitrangelo's niece, Ellie Kannel, and brought to life by Jason. The mask features a large yellow ribbon, which represents support for those with bone cancer, and the Blue Note on the sides, surrounded by the names of patients battling or who have succumbed to cancer that Allen and the Blues have connected with throughout this campaign. On the chin is Allen's number as well as a new snake design created by Ellie. The mask will be auctioned off at the Blues' Casino Night event in 2018 to benefit St. Louis Children's Hospital.
NHL.com featured Jake Allen's new military tribute mask that he will wear on November 11th against the New York Islanders. The mask will then be raffled off with the proceeds going to H.E.R.O.E.S. Care, an organization that provides support for members of all branches of the military and their families through pre-deployment, deployment, family reintegration and post-deployment.
